After finishing college, mastering in industrial electricity, and now impoverished, the winds of chance finally guided Gary westward to seek his fortune, where being a stranger in the stranger land of Utah, he struggled to continue studying in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Programing at Weber State University. Spare time was spent exploring the remote deserts of the west. Discovering vast expanses of spectacular, pristine wilderness was spiritual and healing. He had found his first love.

While raising a family, Gary would often travel and do about every available outdoors activity, with his children graciously enduring it all. To help pass the time while traveling or perhaps rafting along sections of a lazy river, then relaxing by an evening campfire, he was often called upon to read or tell a story and keep the kids (and adults) entertained.

After a sports injury obtained while doing volunteer ski patrol, and its subsequent surgery, during recovery, the family having had enough, insisted that Gary stay occupied by sitting down, putting pen to paper, and recording some of his many adventures. From that point onward, he never stopped writing.

Gary resides in Utah with his adorable wife Shauna.
